I appreciate this useful mental model but like all mental models they are flawed depictions of a beautifully complex world. The options above do not represent all real options. For example, one could work with their family members. One can work remotely to cut two hours of commute. Given human limitations on learning, investing a small amount each day tends to yield better results over time. Also, it assumes a constant burn to reach success. Success may be defined in many ways for example having as 1 million dollars saved versus having 20 million. For myself, I see life working in seasons. Work “hard” then rest for a season to be with friends.
